A Legacy Stitched with Passion
La Couture was founded by Olga Prokopenko, a fourth-generation seamstress with deep roots in European sewing tradition. From creating outfits for her dolls as a child to leading advanced sewing programs, Olga’s lifelong passion for fashion design shines through in every class.
She holds a diploma in Fashion Design and a bachelor’s degree in Pattern Making and Sewing Technology. With nearly two decades of real-world experience — from garment factories to boutique studios — Olga brings a wealth of knowledge, patience, and creativity to her students.
She’s taught students across BC, including Whistler and Vancouver, and now brings her expertise to Langley.

Small, Hands-On Classes
We keep our class sizes small so every student receives personal attention, hands-on support, and the chance to learn at their own pace.

Skill-Based Learning Paths
Our programs are thoughtfully designed for all levels — from absolute beginners to pre-intermediate and advanced sewists — so you can start where you’re comfortable and grow from there.

Female-Led & Locally Owned
Founded by a fourth-generation seamstress, La Couture is proudly female-led and deeply rooted in the Langley community.

Pathway to Fashion Education
Our advanced courses help prepare students for entry into fashion design programs like Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), with a strong focus on garment construction and pattern skills.

Convenient Langley Location
Located right in the heart of Langley, our cozy and modern studio is easy to access — a creative space where learning and community come together.

Our Teaching Philosophy
At La Couture, we believe sewing is more than a skill — it’s a form of creative therapy. Each class is a chance to relax, build something beautiful, and connect with a supportive community.
We focus on:
-
Building confidence from Day One
-
Teaching industry-standard skills
-
Supporting each student’s creative goals
-
Creating a warm, judgment-free learning environment
