Create your own comfortable and stylish elastic-waist skirt from scratch in this hands-on, confidence-building workshop. This class is perfect for absolute beginners who have never sewn before, as well as anyone looking for a relaxed and supportive introduction to garment sewing.

You’ll learn how to confidently use a sewing machine, work with a simple skirt pattern, cut fabric correctly, and assemble a finished garment step by step. During the class, you’ll also sew pockets, choosing between inseam pockets or patch pockets.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a fully wearable skirt—and the skills and confidence to continue sewing on your own.

• Practice using a sewing machine

• Essential stitches and clean seam finishes

• How to read and use a simple skirt pattern

• How to build the pattern directly on the fabric

• Fabric layout, grainline, and basic cutting techniques

• Sewing straight seams and finishing hems

• Creating an elastic waistband

• Sewing pockets (inseam or patch pockets – optional)

• Pressing and finishing for a neat, professional look
