This advanced pattern making block is designed to deepen your technical understanding of lower-body fit while guiding you through the process of drafting a professional pants block from your own measurements. You’ll learn how to analyze balance, movement, and proportion, and transform a single foundation into multiple pant styles using professional modeling techniques.
If you’ve struggled with pant fit before, this course will change the way you understand and construct garments.

How the Course Works
Each session blends technical knowledge with hands-on practice in a focused, supportive environment:

Draft → Mock-up → Fit → Correct → Model
What You’ll Learn
• How to take accurate lower-body measurements
• How to draft a professional pants block from scratch
• Understanding crotch depth, rise balance, leg shape, and movement
• How to identify and correct common fitting issues
• How to confidently adjust patterns for better fit and comfort
You’ll develop 3 pant variations:
• Straight-leg pants
• Palazzo pants
• Banana pants
Project Development
To fully understand fit, you’ll complete a sewn pants mock-up at home.
This garment will be used in class for fitting analysis and technical review. You’ll learn how to identify real fitting issues and apply professional corrections directly to your pattern—an essential skill for advanced sewing and design.
Homework
Between sessions, you’ll continue developing your skills through structured assignments:
• Refining your draft
• Applying technical corrections
• Sewing one pants mock-up for fitting review

Not Included
• Mock-up (muslin) fabric only (no substitutes)
Please do not use thrifted or unsuitable fabrics, as they will affect fitting accuracy
• Fabric requirements:
– 1,5 meter for a straight pant ( S-L) or 2,20 meters for ( XL+)
– 2,20 -3,5 meters for a palazzo pants
