Make technical corrections
-
Understand how patterns behave on real bodies
-
Achieve clean, balanced, comfortable silhouettes
This is how professionals work — and how you’ll learn.
Day 1
What You Will Learn
Body Measurements & Ease
The Secret to Perfect Fit
Learn how professionals take measurements and apply ease correctly for fitted, semi-fitted, and relaxed garments. You’ll understand why garments fail — and how to prevent it.
Basic Bodice Draft & First Fitting
The Foundation of Most Garments
Draft a professional bodice block, create a mock-up, and complete your first fitting. This pattern becomes the base for dresses, blouses, jackets, and coats.
Day 2
Bodice Modeling & Design Transformation
Turn One Pattern into Many Designs
Master dart manipulation, seam relocation, and shaping techniques to create multiple styles without losing fit or balance.
Day 3
Skirt Drafting & Modeling
Understand Lower-Body Fit
Draft a skirt block and model several styles such as straight, A-line, and flared skirts. Skirts quickly reveal fit issues — making this an essential skill-building stage.
Day 4/5
Pants Drafting & Modeling
One of the Most Valuable Skills You Can Learn
Pants are difficult to fit — and that’s exactly why this class is powerful. Learn crotch balance, movement, and how to correct common fitting problems while creating multiple pants styles.
Day 6
Sleeves, Collars & Design Details
Finish Garments Like a Professional
Learn how to draft sleeves and collars and integrate them into your designs. Understand how design details affect balance, movement, and overall silhouette.
What You’ll Gain by the End of the Course
-
Confidence in professional pattern-making logic
-
Ability to draft and model patterns from scratch
-
Strong fitting and correction skills
-
Experience working with mock-ups in a couture-style studio
-
A solid foundation for advanced garment construction, couture work, or fashion studies
